Dieter - Weimaraner
I adopted Dieter and have had him for 5 years. He was a very difficult and challenging dog to train. First off, he had extreme separation anxiety, was destructive, very hyper, and was not house trained at all. After training him, he now is off the leash more often than not, and on command will wait for me at the corner before we cross the street. He is a shining example of what I do for a living. Often, people ask me if I train dogs when they see how well he behaves. I'm so proud of him. We have come a long way.
Freya - Female Catahoula
I first met Dixon while our dogs were playing at the park. I was very impressed with how well Dixon's dog responded to him -- but totally amazed when Dixon was able to assess the issues with my socially inept Catahoula mix. I asked him if he would consider working with her weekly.
She has responded beautifully to Dixon's firm, but gentle control. She knows he's the boss and runs off-leash with him and waits for his commands. More importantly, his training with her works when he is not around. Freya's job and thrill of the day is to retrieve the newspaper. I have watch her take off after a bird or cat only to stop short at the curb because Dixon has trained her not to enter the street without permission. Once the paper was in the gutter, and she sat at the curb and waited patiently for me to figure out that she needed permission to take a step off the curb to retrieve it. She is still shy, but no longer hiding behind me and growling at strangers.
Dixon has a gift for communicating and training with dogs. His training sessions go the extra step in providing the vigorous exercise that dogs need. He takes both of my big dogs for long runs and vigorous walks. They come back exhausted, but very happy and well-behaved dogs. My neighbors have remarked how impressive it is to watch Dixon running with 3 big dogs who have eyes only for him.
Do you have a dog that is a handful? Does your dog need more exercise than you can provide? I highly recommend Dixon to work with you to develop the potential for a well-behaved and happy dog.

Pancho - Border Collie/Australian Shephard Mix
I cannot thank Dixon enough for the work he’s done with my 7 month mini Aussie, Pancho. Although Pancho picked up basic commands, he would not allow me to leash him, would nip for attention and started to develop a lot of unwanted puppy behaviors (digging, chewing furniture and not listening). Within 15 minutes of meeting Dixon, Pancho immediately respected him, looked to him for direction and had a happy puppy demeanor. Dixon was able to recognize that my puppy was very anxious, under-socialized, stubborn and needs a lot of mental and physical exercise. He also noticed that I was not providing consistent direction, my vocal corrections were not firm and that Pancho was picking up on my frustrated and anxious energy.
Each session Dixon works on socialization, problem behaviors and commands. He takes the time to listen to how things are progressing and will first show me what to do and then have me work with Pancho and make any corrections to my technique as needed. He’s not just training Pancho, but his momma as well and the results are impressive. We are 4 sessions in and the digging and chewing are almost completely gone. If Pancho does start to misbehave, he now listens and looks to me for direction and boundaries. We are still working on leash behavior, but I have my “homework” and there is improvement with each day. Pretty soon we’ll be able to enjoy this great dog friendly city together!
